Autosave, loading and compatibility

How CUBE autosaves your session, how to load it again, and how to reproduce results from older versions.

CUBE saves your session automatically after every completed step, to a file named autosave.pipeline_session.json in the Output folder shown at the top of the main window. The session holds your video folders, group labels, parameter settings, step-completion flags and the DLC model state. It does not hold the numerical data, which stays in the output files.

To continue later:

  1. Start CUBE again.
  2. Click Load (top right) and choose the session file. Your folders and settings are restored, and the step cards show which steps are complete.
  3. Run the next step.

Click Save to keep a named copy of the session at any time, for example one per experiment.

Compatibility Mode#

Version 2.1 corrected several defaults. To reproduce results from an earlier run exactly:

  1. Open Advanced CUBE Analysis.
  2. Under Reproducibility and Methodology, set Compatibility mode to legacy_v2.

This restores the earlier values of umap_min_dist (0.0 instead of 0.1), hdbscan_mcs_anchor (full instead of embedding) and angular_fallback (on instead of off). A setting you changed yourself is never overridden. The version of the defaults is stamped into feature_config.json and validation_report.json, so each output folder records which defaults were used.
